Full-time Senior Electrician

A Huawei Technologies Mozambique, Limitada está a recrutar um Senior Electrician para Maputo.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair electrical systems supporting telecommunications equipment and network sites.
- Perform electrical maintenance on DC power systems, AC distribution, rectifiers, UPS systems, batteries, generators and power backup systems.
- Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting on electrical and power-related issues affecting network availability.
- Support maintenance of base stations, data centers, transmission sites, exchanges and customer network facilities.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance according to agreed SLA and OLA requirements.
- Carry out electrical inspections, testing and measurements to identify potential equipment or power failures.
- Ensure proper earthing, bonding, cabling and electrical protection for telecommunications equipment.
- Respond to power-related incidents and network outages, including emergency and after-hours callouts where required.
- Work closely with Network Operations, Field Maintenance, Transmission, Power and Managed Services teams to resolve infrastructure faults.
- Perform installation and termination of electrical cables, DB boards, breakers, isolators and associated equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, faults, repairs, inspections and equipment condition.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical safety standards, site requirements, customer procedures and company policies.
- Conduct site surveys and provide technical input for electrical upgrades, new installations and network expansion projects.
- Liaise with customers, subcontractors and technical teams during maintenance and fault-resolution activities.
- Identify recurring electrical faults and recommend corrective actions to improve network reliability and uptime.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, PPE and electrical materials required for field activities.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience in telecommunications, network infrastructure, data centres or critical power environments.
- Knowledge of AC/DC power systems, UPS, batteries, generators, rectifiers and distribution systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with fault finding, testing and preventative maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical safety requirements and working-at-height/site safety procedures.
Basic Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree in related areas.
- Qualified/registered Electrician with relevant electrical trade certification.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer and network sites.
