Action Contre la Faim (ACF) is a humanitarian association recognised as being of public benefit and founded in 1979, the organisation operates in 47 countries in the fields of nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, water, hygiene and sanitation and mental health and care practices.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated ICT Intern to join our Information and Communication Technology team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of ICT, including but not limited to hardware and software support, network administration, and troubleshooting. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to build a career in the rapidly evolving field of information technology.

 

Contract duration:                         6 months

Receiving base:                               Pemba                

Availability:                                      Imediate

Special Conditions:                        Position available only for residents from Cabo Delgado.

Remuneration:                               12,000.00 MZN (Gross monthly Income) and 13th Month paid in December (prorata depending on the starting date)   

Benefits:                                            Health insurance including partner and children (providing certificates); 2 days per month paid leaves          

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES (NOT COMPLETE)

General mission:

As an ICT Intern, your main objective is to support the mission’s information and communication technology functions. Under the guidance of the IT team, you will contribute to the effective functioning of the organization’s IT infrastructure and provide assistance to end-users.

Mission 1: Technical Support

  • Provide assistance to end-users for hardware and software issues;
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems;
  • Respond to daily technical support requests promptly.

Mission 2: IT Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Assist in managing and maintaining the organization’s computer systems;
  • Support the implementation of antivirus software and ensure regular updates;
  • Contribute to the configuration and monitoring of backup processes;
  • Participate in routine maintenance tasks for computers.

Mission 3: Network Support

  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of local networks;
  • Collaborate in ensuring the proper functioning of network equipment.

Mission 4: Telecommunications Management

  • Support the operation and control of communication tools such as Internet, radio, and satellite;
  • Conduct regular tests on telecommunication systems.

Mission 5: User Training and Support

  • Assist in training users on proper computer usage, basic IT principles, and security rules;
  • Provide support for software applications, information sharing, and email;
  • Address common user problems and escalate issues as needed.

Mission 6: Reporting and Documentation

  • Contribute to monthly inventory checks and equipment updates;
  • Report any identified issues and solutions provided to the IT team;
  • Propose improvements to information technology resources to enhance user efficiency.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Preferred diploma / level of studies:

Currently pursuing or recently completed bachelor degree with a focus on information technology or related field.

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of hardware, software and operating systems.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in English is an advantage.
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Willingness to learn, curiosity and open mind.
  • Motivation and dynamism.
