Full-time EHS Engineer

A Huawei Technologies Mozambique, Limitada está a recrutar um EHS Engineer para Maputo.
Job Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular internal EHS audits and inspections to identify non-compliance issues and areas for improvement. Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and permits. Stay updated on changes in EHS laws and industry best practices.
- Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), and risk assessments for new and existing processes. Identify potential hazards and recommend engineering, administrative, and PPE controls to mitigate risks.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for accidents, near-misses, and environmental spills using methodologies like 5 Whys or Fishbone Diagrams. Develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate EHS records, including incident logs, training records, and audit reports.
- Training & Safety Culture: Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and management (e.g., hazard communication, emergency response, ergonomics).
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and update emergency response plans (ERP) for fires, chemical spills, medical emergencies, and natural disasters. Coordinate and conduct regular emergency drills and evaluate their effectiveness.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and EHS software systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Full availability to work.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in an EHS role within (manufacturing/construction/chemical/pharmaceutical) industry.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
