About the Job:
Minas Moatize Limitada is currently seeking a skilled Surveyor to join their mining company based in Moatize, Tete. As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for precisely measuring and mapping open pit mining areas, to ensure safe and efficient coal extraction. You will use specialized surveying equipment and software to gather data, analyse it, and create maps and reports that guide mining operations. Your work is crucial for mine planning, development, and ongoing operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and optimizing resource extraction.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Safety and Risk Management:
- Ensure safe execution of all survey-related activities;
- Identify and mitigate survey-specific operational risks, including drone and equipment use.
2. Surveying and Data Acquisition:
- Conduct GNSS surveys to support daily mining operations;
- Perform drone-based surveys for volumetric calculations, stockpile measurements, and pit progression tracking;
- Maintain and manage survey control networks across site;
- Process drone data using photogrammetry software for accurate 3D models and reports.
3. Data Management and Collaboration:
- Provide accurate and timely survey data to mine planning and production teams;
- Collaborate with geology, engineering, and production teams to ensure alignment with mine plans;
- Maintain up-to-date survey records, plans, and digital terrain models (DTMs).
4. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to survey standards and relevant regulatory requirements;
- Produce and distribute survey reports as required by management and statutory bodies.
5. Personnel Management:
Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes teamwork and accountability.
6. Environmental Stewardship:
- Minimize the mine’s impact on the surrounding ecosystem;
- Comply with environmental permits and regulations.
Technical Requirements:
- Coal GNSS survey techniques;
- Drone operation and data processing (photogrammetry/volumetric analysis);
- CAD software and GIS systems;
- Survey control setup and maintenance;
- English Fluent.

Education or Certification:
- Degree in Mine Surveying or related field;
- Certification in drone operations and/or photogrammetry software is an advantage.
Years of Experience:
Proven experience (5+ years) in Surveying or related fields
Languages:
Portuguese and English written and spoken fluently
